The story of “On the Stall City”

“On the Stall City”

We first opened our “Pop-up” stall on Norwich Market in February 2019 with the intention of selling off some of Jacob’s personal collection to raise money for the Community Sports Foundation (CSF).

We were overwhelmed by the response and generosity of Norwich Fans who throughout 2019 donated hundreds of items to us and helped us raise over £8000 for the CSF.

In January 2020 we were given the opportunity to rent a stall on a permanent basis on Norwich Market. We had the papers ready to sign and the stall ready to refit… then the pandemic hit.

Throughout 2020 we ran an online shop and managed to raise enough money to buy more stock and donate a further £3000 to the CSF.

We opened our permanent stall on Norwich Market on 20th July 2021.

In August 2021 “On the Stall City” became a “Community Interest Company” (Companies House number 13575963 ) which means that we are now a regulated enterprise. This formalises the donation of all of our profits to the Community Sports Foundation and provides transparency to the hundreds of Norwich City fans who donate items to On the Stall City for resale to raise money for the CSF.

On 1st December 2023 we moved from the market to our new shop inside the iconic Forum building.

What do we sell?

Most of our stock is surplus from the club store. It is new, tagged and excellent quality, but mostly from discontinued lines. We also receive surplus previously worn and new stock from the Norwich City Academy and from the CSF.

We also sell previously worn shirts and training wear donated to us by fans, players, Norwich City staff and from the training ground at Colney. Some of the items that we sell are unique and you won’t find them anywhere else.

Where will the money go?

All profits will be donated to the Community Sports Foundation who do such great work in the County to support the community.

No one at “On the Stall City” takes a salary, or any form of remuneration. We are all volunteers and give our time freely. There are considerable costs involved in running “On the Stall City”: rent, service charge, rates, payment to NCFC for our stock amongst other things, and our sponsor company, ABC Food Law has given financial assistance to the shop as needed, especially when we moved to The Forum and had substantial start-up costs to meet.

Donate your old football shirts and memorabilia

We are very grateful for any donations of used football shirts, books and memorabilia. We only keep a small supply of used football programmes in the shop, but we do run collectors’ fairs twice yearly, and we welcome donations of programmes for these events.

If you would like to donate, please use the form here to contact us.

Many thanks!
